Look: Tulane brings Mean Green back on awesome retro helmet

Tulane is going a little old school with a new helmet for the 2016 season. The image below of the helmet featuring the retro-inspired helmet logo was shared by Troy Dannen, Tulane’s Director of Athletics, earlier today. It is already becoming one of the top helmets we will see during the 2016 season.

Who doesn’t love that tough little green wave mascot, with his fist shaking and megaphone ready for action? The early word suggests the helmet will be worn for the season opener at Wake Forest or the home opener the following week against Southern. The mascot depicted with the helmet decal was originally designed in 1964 by the same artist who designed mascots for Purdue, Wisconsin and USC.
