Toledo suspends Kareem Hunt for 2 games

Toledo will be without one of the top running backs in the MAC, and perhaps the nation, when the Rockets head to Arkansas in Week 2. Kareem Hunt has been suspended for the first two games of the 2015 season for a violation of team policy. Also suspended for the first two games is  defensive end Allen Covington.

Hunt was the leading rusher in the MAC last season with 1,631 yards and 16 touchdowns. Only Western Michigan’s Jarvion Franklin had more rushing touchdowns (24) than Hunt last fall. Covington was Toledo’s 10th leading tackler last season with 29 tackles in 11 games. Covington’s big play of the season was a 67-yard fumble recovery and return for a touchdown in the bowl game against Arkansas State.
