Cincinnati is going to be sporting a red helmet when the Bearcats take on SMU this weekend. It doesn’t have a shiny chrome finish, but I personally feel this look would look fantastic with a matte finish. Take a look, and tell us what you think.
The #Bearcats will be rocking these red helmets against SMU! Great job by @UC_Equipment! #BearcatsPride#UniSwagpic.twitter.com/aQU1PdUHNX

The last time Cincinnati wore a red helmet regularly was in 1982, which had been the primary helmet color since 1970 (or 1967 if you look past the one year in 1969 when Cincinnati wore a black helmet). Cincinnati did wear a helmet with a red-flavor to it in the 2012 Belk Bowl, but this is the first time since 1982 the team will wear an actual red helmet.
