PHOTO: Texas Tech’s silver helmet is… something

Texas Tech is playing a Big 12 contest tonight against Oklahoma State. It could very well be a shootout, so why wouldn’t Texas Tech want to pack some silver bullets? Or, at the very least, some silver helmets? Check out these helmets the Red Raiders will be wearing tonight. It’s… interesting. Close up of

PHOTO: Virginia shows off Mad Men era helmet

Virginia will be going retro this weekend when the surprisingly tough Cavaliers take on Kent State. The helmets, as seen below, are a nod back to the Virginia football program in the mid-1960s through the mid-1970s. This is not the first time Virginia has brought back this design though. Virginia wore a similarly retro-themed helmet […]

VIDEO: Meet UNC’s Morale Supervisor Caleb Pressley

Every college football program’s staff is different from the next. I am not sure how many schools have a Supervisor of Morale on their staff, but North Carolina does. His name is Caleb Pressley. He is going to be featured in a segment on ESPNU’s College Football Daily on Thursday. Here is a quick teaser…

Photo: ECU billboard declares in-state dominance

You probably had to see this one coming. Following a blowout win over North Carolina in which East Carolina scored more points on the Tar Heels than any team in UNC history, a fresh new billboard in support of ECU was put up a few miles outside of Greenville, North Carolina. The message of the […]

PHOTO: Arkansas wants all of the Tight Ends

Arkansas currently has verbal commitments from four of the top 19 tight ends for the Class of 2015. This hilarious tweet shows what Bret Bielema might have in store for the rest of the SEC once these four get on campus…. Arkansas has signed 4 of the Top 20 TE recruits. A glimpse of next […]

Michigan is resorting to odd things to keep that 100K plus attendance streak up, since it appears not that many folks want to go.

Need Michigan tickets? $3 for a pair.

Not only is Michigan bad at football, now they’re bad at filling the stands. Michigan has an impressive streak of packing the Big House with 100,000 plus but is in position to not lead the Big 10 in attendance in what seems like forever. So apparently they’ve resorted to giving away tickets for buying $3 […]

Rich Rodriguez now faces the central task of making sure his players don’t lose faith after a classic Arizona stomach-punch loss against USC. The one original Pac-10 member without a single Rose Bowl appearance has to stay the course. If it does, the Pac-12 South is still there for the taking. The winner of this division will probably have at least two conference losses by season’s end. Arizona can overcome just about any scoreboard obstacle, but the Wildcats’ offense needs to be able to score more than 13 points through three quarters at home. The Wildcats were stuck on 13 after 45 minutes in home games against California and USC. The Wildcats overcame the Golden Bears. They weren’t able to make one last kick against USC. Start-to-finish consistency on offense is what Rich Rod has to cultivate over the next month and a half.

PHOTO: Before Arizona’s Hail Mary, RichRod Was Praying

Arizona defeated California late Saturday night in Tucson on the strength of a 36-point fourth quarter, capped by a Hail Mary on the game’s final play. Just before that Hail Mary, look at how Arizona coach Rich Rodriguez was facing the moment: No words necessary.

PHOTO: Utah’s Clay strikes Desmond Howard’s Heisman pose

Desmond Howard made striking the Heisman pose (inaccurately) a thing football players enjoy doing. Utah’s Kaelin Clay happens to be one of those players. In Utah’s road game at Michigan Stadium, Clay returned a punt for a touchdown to give the visiting Utes a 10-3 lead, following the extra point attempt. Just as Howard did all […]

Watch: Blake Sims throwing bombs

The Alabama offense has turned the ball over twice so far but when they aren’t turning it over….QB Blake Sims is hitting bombs…. First he connected with Kenyan Drake on an 87 yard TD… and then he hit Amari Cooper for 79 yards and a TD… At the end of the first quarter Sims is […]
