Notes and Observations
- As always, remember that these rankings are fluid, and will change from week-to-week.
 - North Dakota State received all four first-place votes for the third week in row. Similarly, Eastern Washington received all four second-place voters for the third straight week.
 - Although we agreed on the top two teams, our panel had some very different opinions on teams 3-10. Sure, most of our voters had Sam Houston State at No. 3, but four different squads received fourth and fifth place votes. That’s why there’s such a huge drop off in points between teams 3 and 4.
 - South Dakota State was this week’s “unlucky winner”, dropping from the standings even though it won.
 - However, that’s not a knock on the Jackrabbits. Richmond — which defeated Virginia to open the season — re-entered the rankings by defeating Albany 36-30 triple overtime.
 - Youngstown State cracked the top 10 this week, thanks to a 20-6 win over Illinois State. The Redbirds have dropped four straight since defeating Northwestern 9-7 in week 2.
 - Chattanooga still remains the most polarizing team in our poll, ranking as high as No. 3 on some ballots, while not appearing on another. The Mocs can change that this weekend with a victory over The Citadel.
