SEC Championship Tickets Remain Over $400 Average On Secondary Market

The Alabama Crimson Tide and the Florida Gators will meet in the 24th SEC Football Championship Game at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday, December 5th at 4 p.m. ET.

The Crimson Tide will be granted one of the four available spots in the College Football Playoff with a victory, however the same cannot be said for the Gators. With Florida’s most recent loss to Florida State, the Gators are playing for a spot in a more prestigious bowl outside of the CFP and of course, to play spoiler to their division counterparts.

Alabama had one slip up early in the season to Ole Miss, but has been near flawless since. With one of the best rushing attacks and one of the best rushing defenses in college football, Alabama are equipped to control the line of scrimmage better than any team in the country. Although Florida does not have a way into the CFP, it’s been a highly successful first season under head coach Jim McElwain, whose team boasts a strong defense that was the main reason for capturing an SEC East division title.

Tickets to the SEC Championship Game on the secondary market remain above the $400 average mark but have been slipping, according to TiqIQ.com. The average ticket price for the game was priced at $653.39 on November 1st and rose to $699.84 by November 11th before hitting its decline. One week later on November 18th the average ticket price had fell more than $100 to $571.76 and fell to $495.44 by November 25th. The dip is still ongoing, as the current average ticket price is $426.14 with a get-in price of $136.

Booking a flight to Atlanta through Hipmunk.com will be the best way for Gators fans on campus to get to the Georgia Dome, while followers of the Crimson Tide will be able to commute by car with the campus being an estimated 200 miles from the arena. Hipmunk has hotels near the Georgia Dome starting from $76 so fans from either can side can celebrate the victory afterward.

Alabama has won two of the last three SEC Championship games, while Florida is looking for its first victory since 2008. Coincidentally, Florida’s win in that game came against Alabama.
