It’s Alabama day at SEC Media Days, the most crowded day on the schedule at the Hoover, Ala. event.
Any time Alabama coach Nick Saban is scheduled to attend, the tiny lobby gets filled to the brim, bringing out fans that run the gamut from rational people to Ring Hat Man.
A new face in the crowd this year is someone we’ll call Australia Man.

He made a sign – using a stencil, those fonts look nice – and flew to Hoover, not to see his apparent favorite team play in the fall but to catch a glimpse of his favorite coach walking in a straight line through a crowd. Australia’s biggest Alabama fan saw Saban and either says “fight for Australia, Nick” or “I’m from Australia, Nick,” as captured in Barrett Sallee’s Instagram video.
What he actually says is irrelevant, hopefully the fan spending thousands of dollars to stand in a hotel lobby can get Saban’s attention on his way back out to his Mercedes.
UPDATE: He met him!
