McNeese State gave Nebraska all it could handle in Lincoln on Saturday. In a season still raw on FCS teams upsetting FBS squads, McNeese State was pretty darn close to at least forcing overtime against the Big Ten school. Too bad Ameer Abdullah came through with the longest reception of his career in the final minute of the game and found a way to the end zone to give the Huskers a late lead and a chance to breathe a huge sigh of relief.
You had to feel bad for a team like McNeese State, and the pain was shown as the play unfolded to those listening to the McNeese State radio broadcast.
You did deserve better, McNeese State. Better luck next time.
