Nebraska is sending out batteries to football writers

After covering college football the last few years I have seen a small sampling of promotional contents find a way to my mailbox from time to time. A few years ago when Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III was on the rise, the Baylor program sent out trading cards of their eventual Heisman Trophy player. Kansas State sent out band-aids for a campaign for Collin Klein. I am still waiting for my dumbells from Northwestern for the Dan Persa “Persa Strong” campaign.

Today I received something from Nebraska, spreading the word about running back Ameer Abdullah; an eight-pack of double A batteries. Eight batteries because of Abdullah’s uniform number (No. 8) and double A batteries for his initials.

I have been told by some on Twiter these should be good for about four years and they should keep going and going and going
