While I encourage you to read the entire article, the gist of it is that Arizona cannot give walk-on Jake Matthews a scholarship because said scholarship will count twice against UA’s 85-man limit. The reason: because he’s an underclassman.
I sure am glad that the NCAA took the O’Bannon ruling seriously and is looking out for the well-being of its student-athletes. It’s not like college is expensive or anything…
