Taysom Hill named the starting QB at BYU

Head coach Kalani Sitake has named Taysom Hill as BYU’s starting quarterback according to a tweet from Jay Drew of the Salt Lake Tribune.

That second tweet has to come as welcomed news to Cougar fans. After all, Tanner Mangum had a solid season, completing 59.9% of his passes for 3,377 yards and an impressive 23/10 TD-to-INT ratio. In order for Hill to earn the job, he would have had to outplay Mangum. Since he did get the nod, that ought to ease any concerns that BYU fans about whether he’s fully recovered from injury.
