News broke yesterday that Louisville Cardinals defensive coordinator Todd Grantham was interviewing for the same position with the NFL’s Oakland Raiders. Today, it was announced that the Raiders had offered him a two-year contract. Last year, Grantham signed a five-year contract with Louisville when he jumped from Georgia so I’m going to take a small leap and say that’s a significant reason why he’s staying with the Ville.
For Louisville, they may be glad he’s staying for now but if your DC is looking around with just around a week until National Signing Day odds are that he will be out the door when he finds an offer that’s as good (or better) than the one he has.
There were reports of Bobby Petrino and Grantham being at odds last season, expect more of those “rumors” this season…
